- Ensures that WebPublisher Pro will run on the latest Microsoft Windows Server 2008 operating system. (Older versions of Web Publisher Pro will not run on Windows Server 2008.)
- Provides improved standards compliance for Web publishing, enabling Web developers to use XHTML when writing custom Web pages.
- Provides the administrator with a log of Web Publisher queries. This allows usage analysis of textbases. Items reported include the query, number of records returned, time & date, and the IP address from which the query originated. The log file will be created in CVS format, enabling analysis of the information by importing the file into DB/TextWorks, Excel or other products.
- Query hits highlighted within the record in a search result, enabling users to find the information they are searching for more quickly.

| 10 |
- Ability to provide RSS publishing.

- Support for multiple folders for images on the web.

- Faster browsing through long validation lists because of support for paging the validation list.
- More powerful data entry with ability to browse the link field (in a secondary Textbase) while editing. This can assist in reducing data entry.
- Supports exploded sorts.
- Users now have the ability to further customize search screens by changing the text on their Browse Choices buttons.
- XML interface is more robust by allowing use of certain characters that were previously unacceptable to XML.
- Inmagic XML tutorial has been updated. This will provide developers with improved documentation for using this standards-based interface.
|
| 8 |
- Compatible with Windows Server 2003.
- Ability to automatically import XML.
- Support for the SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) interface.
- XML returns the hit count notifying users if a results set is empty or too large.
- Ability to specify the number of records to appear in the results set.
- Corrected issue with inputting records using the Web editing screen so that information is retained even if a single field has a data entry error when attempting to save. This eliminates the need to re-input all of the information for that record; one only needs to correct the field in error and re-submit the record.
- With the release of Text Works and Web Publisher Pro V8 the features and functionality will be synchronized and independent of the backend used - DB/Text or Content Server.
