We are open for business as usual until the 24th December, and this Thursday we are running our final Tims 9 seminar for those who missed out first time round. Otherwise, we look forward to catching up with you in the New Year and wish you a wonderful Christmas and enjoyable holiday season.

TIMS 9 Webinar

As introduced in the last Trimagic newsletter, the Trimagic Information Management System (TIMS) has  now reached version 9. TIMS is more flexible than ever, and includes many new features such as the Microsoft Sharepoint Integration Kit, spell checking on edit forms, ‘find-as-you-type’ keyword searching, pop-up calendars and large image-file compression.

 

We are running one more TIMS 9 webinar (interactive, internet based seminar) before Christmas on Thursday 17th December at 11.00 p.m. edst. As well as giving you an overview of the latest TIM's features, we will be using examples from recent projects to show you how we have met some of our clients' information management challenges. We will also cover system customisation and MS Sharepoint integration.

TIMS at the Cunningham Library
The Cunningham Library is a special library supporting the staff of the Australian Council for Educational Research, as well as its own Cunningham Library members. In addition, the library produces and generates income from a range of database products, including the Australian Education Index, the Australasian Education Directory and the Education Research Theses database. As seasoned Inmagic users, library staff were happy with the flexibility of their DB/Text Works and Web Publisher Pro-based library management system, but the time had come for an upgrade! Of particular importance to the library was the need to provide ACER staff with personalised catalogue access, including the ability to see and renew their own loans and set up profiles for topics in which they are interested. The system also needed to mirror existing workflows, improve circulation functionality, integrate research requests, include RSS feeds in the OPAC and enable off-site access to personalised catalogue access for staff and members via Eduserv's single sign-on MyAthens user portal.
