This public website provides a central directory of all material on domestic and family violence produced in Australia
The Research & Resources database provides a central directory of all material on domestic and family violence produced in Australia, whether formal research findings, journal articles, pamphlets, unpublished reports, training kits or videos. The Good Practice database keeps service providers in touch with what others across the country are doing. It encompasses both innovation and approaches which have been evaluated. Each database has a simple search option and an advanced search option. The simple search includes one query box which searches across all the fields and subjects in the database. Clicking on the subject performs the search, and displays records found. The advanced search screen provides a search option for every field in the database, including drop-down lists for picking options, word wheels for browsing entries in fields, and lots of online help. Extensive use of “canned” search links mean that users can click see a list of search headings which they can click to have results delivered immediately without having to do any searching themselves. Background information for this description has been sourced from a comprehensive article by the designer of the system, Louise McLeod, “The ADFV Clearinghouse: An Interdisciplinary Focus” in Online Currents, 16(5), June 2001.
