Learn without leaving your desk - next course to be held Thursday 3 July 2008.
1 hour online course. Prerequisite: Working knowledge of DB/TextWorks DB/TextWorks scripts can be developed to perform certain operations when a form or screen is opened or closed, when buttons on the form or screen are clicked, when you leave a box, or in other situations. For example, a script can fill in a box on a query screen or perform extra validation on the contents of a field in an edit form. You can use script buttons to bring up field-specific help on an edit form, open a document in its native application from a record display, or move or copy information among boxes on a form. During this online module you will be taken through the development of a script within DB/TextWorks, show what they can be used for, explain the different components involved and how they are developed. |

Learn without leaving your desk - next course to be held Thursday 26 June 2008.
1 hour online course.
Prerequisite: Working knowledge of DB/TextWorks Customers using WebPublisher or WebPublisher PRO can create canned queries. A canned query is a pre-defined search presented on an intranet or internet as a Hypertext link. These canned queries are links that contain the search criteria that is sent when the link is clicked. Users are one click away from the information they need, without entering any search terms, and with no training. Link searches or canned queries can appear anywhere on your internet or intranet. Clicking on the links performs the search immediately. You could have a link to show items arrived in the last 7 days, or all websites you have indexed on a subject, or to perform a subject search on the latest hot topic. During this online module you will be shown how they can be used and how they are developed. A number of queries will be created during the session from simple queries to quite complex queries. |
